Current Monarch: Family Zietzev

With the inhabitants of New Aequitas came a system of rule known only as the Monarchy. Archaic titles were passed from one generation to the next. Overthrown monarchs were stripped of all power while a usurper claimed the throne. Since first arriving in Omega Dawn, the power has changed hands over a hundred times between the Three Families.

Though the endless struggle for power has been set deep in corruption, bribery, and assasinations for many generations, the face of the Monarchy remains dignified and poised as it ever did. The families live beside one another in relative outward peace, if only for the sake of the people they rule. But deep down behind the fancy galas and throne of power is a fervent, unruly hatred and jealousy of any family that is not their own. 

Family Zietzev
Considering themselves the most capable leaders, the Zietzev family has made the most changes to the Aequitan law. They are not ones for flash, but instead seeing the populace of New Aequitas grow and prosper.

Family Nikonova
Claims they were the first Monarchs in Omega Dawn, and therefore, the most worthy. Those of this family find themselves hungry for discovery. Technological advances are the easiest way to explore without leaving home, and as such, the Nikonova family pushes for funding to space exploration to continue, if not increase

Family Romanov
The most archaic of the Three Families, the Romanov family believes in a meeting of history and future. The term “monarchy” holds a certain weight to these nobles, and they are of the notion that the universe should respect their titles with reverence of legend.
